Job Description
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Accountable for building ICT blueprints and roadmaps, for designated applications, that determine the future direction of technology streams ensuring alignment with business and Information Systems strategies
• Leading business-facing digital Architecture specialising in blueprinting, digital business architecture, application rationalisation, architecture governance and project quality assurance. And helping our business pivot to a Digital Utility whilst enabling flexibility and adaptability through Agile and Multi-Speed IT
• Provide ICT leadership through the provision of technical advice to internal and external stakeholders in order to influence decisions, resolve and provide solutions to business issues consistent with architectural standards and evaluating options for solutions and services
• Partner with senior business leaders to develop digital solutions and facilitate the mapping of business requirements to systems and technical standards to ensure alignment of organisational business strategies, and Information System’s technology future state, plan and standards
• Oversee the production and implementation of Architecture solutions covering multiple cloud and AaS technologies, associated Infrastructure/ application architecture, development and operating models
• Work collaboratively with Program Managers and Architects to define and design technology solutions that assist business units in meeting their business objectives whilst ensuring alignment to architectural specifications and standards
• Provide input to the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and thereby optimise the return on technology investment
• Drive strategic partnerships with vendors, research houses and other internal external companies and parties to drive technology innovation within the business
• Undertake detailed level research, and analysis to identify future technology trends, and assess applicability to support business objectives and provide these insights to business stakeholders
• Develop, test and implement technology solutions and oversee/report on delivery commitments to ensure solutions are implemented as expected and to agreed timeframes, and standards
• Proactively work with vendors and suppliers to evaluate options for solutions and services ensuring external requirements and features are incorporated into solution designs
• Maintains an awareness of the global needs of the organisation, and promotes the benefits that a common approach to ICT deployment will bring to the business as a whole among information systems and business management.
QUALIFICATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENCES AND AUTHORISATIONS
Required
• Bachelor of Information Technology, or Bachelor of Technology, similar or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
• Substantial experience working in information or digital technologies.
• Experience in latest industry solutions and technologies like Mobility, Cloud, Digital, Analytics etc.
Desirable
• Masters or Post Graduate qualifications highly regarded
• Architecture-related certifications such as TOGAF, CITA or EACOE etc. highly regarded
• Qualifications in Project/Program Management (e.g. Prince 2, Managing Successful Programs, PMBOK etc.)
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Experience
• Specialised professional with substantial experience in a similar/professional role
• Experience in Architecture, strategy and roadmap design, blueprints and architecture with industry- relevant perspectives and patterns
• Strong experience managing complex technical projects and programs of work including change management within large enterprises, preferably in Information Technology
• Professional experience using appropriate tools, including logical models of components and interfaces, to contribute to the development of systems architectures in specific business or functional areas
• Producing detailed component specifications and translating these into detailed designs for implementation using selected products
• Experience to specify and design large or complex systems selecting appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensure they are applied effectively.

• Leadership skills to encourages and motivates colleagues to share creative ideas and learn from failures
• Capability to evaluate and undertake impact analysis on major system design options and assess and manage associated risks ensuring that all system designs balance functional, service quality, and systems management requirements
• Expertise and skills to provide advice on technical aspects of systems development and integration (including requests for change, deviations from specifications, etc) and ensure that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices are applied correctly
• Ability to accept responsibilities and accountabilities and be focused on delivering outcomes to meet the wider team objectives
• Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate, and formally report potential benefits from both structural and incremental change
• High level interpersonal skills with the ability to influence outcomes in an organisation with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities in a changing environment.
