About the Role
We’re partnering with a Big 4 consulting firm to find experienced GCP Data Engineers & Data Architects to join their growing data transformation practice. This is a unique opportunity to lead complex Teradata-to-GCP migrations while shaping cloud-first data strategies for some of Australia's largest organisations.
You’ll play a hands-on role in designing and delivering scalable data architecture within Google Cloud Platform, collaborating across business and technical teams, and ensuring best-in-class performance, governance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and manage cloud-native data pipelines and architecture on Google Cloud Platform
- Lead full-lifecycle Teradata-to-GCP migration projects, ensuring performance, reliability, and data integrity
- Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to scope requirements and translate them into scalable solutions
- Develop robust, reusable solutions for data integration, modelling, and warehousing
- Orchestrate data workflows using Apache Airflow
- Provide thought leadership and consulting expertise to clients on cloud data engineering and architecture best practices
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience designing and implementing data solutions on Google Cloud Platform
- Deep knowledge of Teradata systems and hands-on experience with Teradata-to-GCP migration projects
- Proficient in SQL, and either Python or Java for automation and pipeline development
- Strong experience using Apache Airflow to manage complex workflows
- Solid grasp of data warehousing, data modelling, and data governance principles
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—able to bridge the gap between business and engineering
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience in consulting, especially within large-scale transformation programs
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and best practices in enterprise cloud environments
- Exposure to broader cloud ecosystems and tools (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer)
