Technology Observability Engineer
Location: Sydney | Hybrid
Sestra People is partnering with a leading enterprise to find an experienced Technology Observability Engineer to lead innovation across a large-scale infrastructure and security environment.
💻 About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity within a Level 3 Observability team. You’ll guide the transition from reactive monitoring to predictive insights, leveraging advanced tooling and AI-Ops.
As part of the broader Infrastructure & Security function, you'll drive service delivery, system performance, and observability best practices across the business. The team supports everything from L3 tooling and onboarding to analytics and ML Ops integration.
🛠️ What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
5+ years of technical expertise with observability tools:
Splunk, AppDynamics, Elastic, and OpenTelemetry (OTEL)
3–5 years of experience leading high-performing technical teams
Strong background in service delivery and systems monitoring
Exposure to AI-Ops or ML Ops highly regarded
Clear, confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Bonus points for project management or commercial acumen
